Christ always placed himself in the midst of those in need. After periods of prayer and solitude, he would head straight into crowds of people who were physically sick, emotionally broken, and spiritually depleted. Filled with the power of the Holy Spirit, he brought healing, comfort, and hope. And he calls us to do the same. He calls us to be filled with the power of his Spirit, and then to plunge into the areas of our culture’s greatest pain and deepest need. He calls us to bring healing, comfort, and hope in the midst of sorrow, desperation, and despair.
